North – Expect snow flurries this week in the Northern states from Winter Storm Inga. Snowfall from Maine to South Carolina is expected today until tomorrow. The snowfall and ice mix is expected to delay travel. More than 100 million people are affected currently by winter storm warnings from Texas to Maine.

South – Winter storm alerts were issued for Southern states from Texas to Kentucky and even the Florida panhandle from Today until Wednesday. A wintry mix with snow/ ice/ sleet will cause dangerous driving conditions. In Texas this morning, the icy conditions caused the Houston George Bush Inter Continental Airport to cancel hundreds of flights along with closing many freeways. Louisiana had heavy snow that they haven’t had since 2015. Mississippi, Tennessee and even West Virginia can expect to see 2 to 5 inches of snowfall. Alabama has declared a state of emergency over the weekend due to the severe winter weather.

Midwest – Snow and ice will also affect the Midwestern states from Iowa to Ohio. Over the weekend, Winter Storm Hunter delivered snow to areas in the Plains including  9 inches in North Dakota and 2.8 inches in Minnesota. Snow is expected in Montana and from Minnesota to Ohio for this week. 

West – As for California, due to the disastrous mudslides in Montecito, the Major Coastal Highway is currently closed. The highway will remain closed for at least another week. California’s Thomas Fire is 45 percent contained. This is the state’s second largest fire, destroying over 1000 homes. The wildfires are currently being contained by firefighters and mudslides.
