North – Warmer weather is approaching the Northern states for this week from North Carolina to Maine. Expect peak warmth from Wednesday to Thursday and expect temperatures in the high 70s and 80s.  

South – Warm and humid air in the South will stir up severe storms, especially near the Gulf of Mexico. From Monday morning until Thursday, severe storms will be possible from Texas to Kansas. This can include heavy rain, thunderstorms and even tornadoes – which may cause travel delays.

Midwest – For today, severe storms area likely from Nebraska to Minnesota. Severe storms will especially be concentrated in Northwest Missouri, Southwest Iowa and Northern Kansas. Expect severe thunderstorms, possible tornadoes and heavy rain. The heavy rain from the storm can also cause flash flooding, which may delay travel.

West – Western states can expect cooler air along the coast from Washington to California. Expect showers and thunderstorms from Nevada to Wyoming. Over 500 homes in Arizona were under threat on Sunday from a Tinder Fire that spread within a matter of a few hours. The fire ended up exploding from burning 500 acres to 8,000 acres within a couple of hours. Evacuations were ordered, especially areas North, East and West of Highway 87. If you are near this area, listen to first responders and law enforcement and stay safe! Winds are very high in this area and the fire is quickly spreading.
