North – Wind force from Hurricane Maria will be high over the next few days from Virginia to Connecticut as it drifts off to sea during the end of the week. The storm will not hit the the states directly, but they will still experience the impacts of the storm. Coastal flooding will be a concern along with high surf and rip currents.

South – Hurricane Maria is expected to hit North Carolina this week. Heavy winds and coastal flooding are likely to brush the coast of North Carolina, causing destruction to the area. Tropical storm watches and storm surges will be in affect for this week in North Carolina. Maria will likely impact the East coast for the next few days. Today, Hurricane Maria went from a category 1 hurricane to a category 5 hurricane. More than 3 inches of rain can be expected in the outer banks of North Carolina. Residents from North Carolina to Virginia should be watching for flooding. The storm surges will peak on Wednesday in the states.

Midwest – Weather in the Midwest should be the calmest region throughout this week. Weather in Illinois including Chicago should be mostly sunny and in the 70’s, with a few partly cloudy days. Weather in Wisconsin will be partly cloudy for the week with a chance of rain on Tuesday. From Ohio to Michigan, the weather this week should be enjoyable and in the 70’s. This is a great time to transport vehicles through this area, so take advantage of the good weather!

WestMontana dealt with extreme weather this week, having both ice and fire near Glacier National Park and Lake McDonald. The flames have burned down 16,000 acres of land, but residents are hoping the snow and ice will take care of the horrific fire. Any precipitation will help to control the fire, whether it is snow or rain. People traveling through this area should proceed with caution.
