North – Weather from New York to Connecticut should be partly cloudy this week with chances of precipitation. Storms will return this week to the Northern states from Virginia to Maine. Chances of showers with thunderstorms are high and will cause travel delays.

South – Tropical Storm Gert is heading for the East Coast towards North Carolina. As of now, the storm is halfway between Bermuda and the Bahamas. Expect heavy winds off the Eastern coast of the U.S. along with increased waves. From North Carolina, the storm will lightly brush the northeastern seaboard for a short amount of time.

Midwest – Severe thunderstorms are expected from Texas to South Dakota. Wisconsin to Illinois will also be affected with heavy rain, possible flash floods and isolated tornadoes from Tuesday night until Wednesday.

West – Weather in California should be sunny with average temperatures in the high 70’s. Extreme heat conditions in the Northwestern states from Oregon to Washington and from Montana to Idaho will continue. We recently saw cooler weather in the area, but the weather will heat up again. The persistent dryness is keeping the wildfire danger at a high level. If you are traveling through this area, proceed with caution.
