DCAT Logistics Post 8/21 – 8/27 August 21, 2017
For today, we will be expecting a solar eclipse throughout the world. Do not use the beaches as the solar eclipse creates intense high and low tides. The eclipse will be the most visible for the states in the Northwest. Expect traffic jams due to people trying to travel to get a good view of the solar eclipse.
North - Weather from Massachusetts to New York for this week will be partly cloudy with temperatures in the 70's.
Midwest - Severe weather will threaten the Midwestern states for tonight. Heavy winds, flooding, tornados and hail are all to be expected from South Dakota to Wisconsin. The storms today may have an impact on the viewing of the eclipse. On Tuesday, severe heat will affect the Ohio valley which may develop into severe storms.
West - Weather in Los Angeles, California will be sunny with an average temperature in the 80's. This is great weather for transporting a vehicle for this week.
South - A tropical disturbance will affect Florida early on Tuesday. Heavy downpours and thunderstorms are to be expected along with potentials of flash floods and rough surf. The storm has the potential to strengthen into a tropical depression.
