North – Severe storms are expected this week in the Northeast today. Thunderstorms are possible from North Carolina to Maine. Strong winds, hail and even flash flooding are all likely.

 

Midwest – Strong storms also moved this week through Illinois and Wisconsin with winds expecting to average 65 mph. Over the weekend, Illinois had a tornado with wind gusts up 10 100 mph.

 

West – Excessive heat will occur from California to Nevada, which threatens the record high temperatures in the area. This is a pre monsoon event, where the highest temperatures occur before the summer monsoon. Arizona is even experiencing this high heat, which will surpass 115 degrees midweek.

 

South – In the Gulf of Mexico, a tropical storm is likely to form. Flooding, heavy rain, rip currents and high tides are likely for this week. From Texas to Florida, heavy rain is possible. The average rainfall will be about 5 inches, and extreme amounts of rain can be anywhere from 10-16 inches.
