North – Weather changes this week will bring warm air to the North. In New York, temperatures will reach the high 80’s and low 90’s towards the end of the week. Warm air will flow from the Midwest to the Northeastern states this week from Pennsylvania to Maine.

Midwest – Over the weekend, a cold air mass has threatened the weather for this week in the Midwest. The low pressure areas are creating excess moisture in the air, which will stir up severe storms for the upcoming week. Flash flooding and thunderstorms are all possible this week, which will be beneficial to the areas having severe drought. Tuesday evening, severe storms will occur from North Dakota to Kansas, with a potential for tornadoes. Severe storms will move East from Minnesota to Illinois on Wednesday.

West – Heat waves in Arizona are so intense that food is baking, cactus are dying and street signs and plastic are melting. Phones may also not work during the extreme heat. The street signs may pose a danger to drivers, so proceed with caution when driving through Arizona. The near-record heat at 119 degrees is making it a fire hazard as well. The heat from California to Nevada are subsiding as the states are going through a cooling trend this week. Wildfires are still a threat to the Southwestern states, and people should be prepared for future evacuations in fire-prone areas.

South – Thunderstorms are expected tonight from Florida to South Carolina. Precipitation will occur for the whole week in Texas, cooling off the state from warm temperatures last week. Severe thunderstorms are also likely for this week.
