North – The Northeastern states will be getting a fast-moving storm from Virginia to Maine. Expect snow, rain, coastal flooding and strong winds. Through Tuesday, Northeastern states can expect 6 inches or more of snow in some areas in Northern New York to Maine. 1 to 5 inches is expected from Pennsylvania to Massachusetts. Expect slippery road conditions and travel delays.

Midwest – A jet stream from North of the Midwestern states will travel from Wisconsin to Maine. The storm will cause cold air, strong winds and snow with states near the Great Lakes, especially from Ohio to Michigan. For today, states near the Great Lakes should have 3 inches or less of snow. This may cause slick roads and a difficult commute with flight delays at the Chicago O’Hare airport.

West – The wildfire disaster in California is larger than the size of San Diego. The Southern California fire named the “Thomas Fire” is the 5th largest wildfire in California’s history. The fire is covering 230,000 acres of land, and as of Sunday, is 10 percent contained. Proceed with caution when traveling through Southern California – expect travel delays.

South – The first snow in the south of Texas since 2004 hit Texas over the weekend. Winter Storm Benji was the heaviest snowstorm the South had experienced in December. It also hit areas of the Florida panhandle and areas along the Gulf coast like Louisiana. Some areas of South Florida had temperatures in the low 30’s. This is uncommon for South Florida, as the only South Florida snowstorm on record in the 20th century was a brief snowflake dusting in 1977. During the week, temperatures are expected to get warmer in the 60’s and 70’s, with a low of 50’s. For Florida, winter may be here to stay for a while.
