For this week, severe thunderstorms are expected in some Midwest, Southern and Northeastern states. A category 3 Hurricane may hit the Western side of Hawaii. The photo above shows Hurricane Lane making its way towards Hawaii’s Big Island.

North – Northern states are preparing for another week of heavy rain from Monday to Tuesday which may cause travel delays and flash flooding. Temperatures and humidity will be lower toward the end of the week from Maine to Virginia.

South – Severe thunderstorms with possible tornadoes are likely Monday night from Mississippi to Missouri from tonight until Tuesday. Severe threats are also likely from East Texas to Florida.

Midwest – Expect severe thunderstorms and flash flooding in the Midwestern states for tonight. Some areas can expect thunderstorms and hail. Severe weather will occur in the Ohio Valley and mid to lower Mississippi from Illinois to Indiana. Tornadoes have already been sighted in Oklahoma and Missouri and destroyed property near Tulsa, Oklahoma. Fallen tree may have blocked roadways so proceed with caution when travelling through this area.
West – Hurricane season is already here and is expected to hit the west side of Hawaii. Hurricane Lane has winds of 125 mph but is expected to weaken a bit when it hits Hawaii. Citizens are warned not to let their guard down and the island can have direct impact. Expect to experience high winds, rip currents and high surf from the category 3 hurricane. From Oregon to Washington, heat will exacerbate midweek making dangerous conditions for wildfires.
