North

For the North, temperatures in New York are rising and causing heat exhaustion among many people. The rising temperatures are due to climate change and heat related deaths are expected to triple by the year 2080.

West

Wildfires in California last week damaged up to 80 homes. 1500 homes are currently affected, and temperatures are continuing to rise – expecting to get into the 100’s. Evacuations have occurred along with having more than 900 firefighters.

Midwest

Heavy storms this week threaten the midwest. Thunderstorms and tornadoes are likely possible for the plains from Nebraska to Wyoming and from Colorado to Kansas. Severe daytime and overnight weather expected. Proceed with caution when transporting a car through this area.

East
Floods in West Virginia have amounted to some of the deadliest flash flooding in years for America. The National Weather Service issued a flash-flood advisory Monday night for West Virginia. Severe thunderstorms and showers caused severe flooding, tragically leaving at least 23 fatalities. A state of emergency was declared by Barack Obama for West Virginia. In South Carolina, floods affected the state by ripping apart houses and coating streets with mud. Flood waters have knocked out power and covered many streets, so transportation through these areas may not be possible.
