Some important steps are taken before you actually see your vehicle off as it begins its journey to its destination. The vehicle inspection the transporter does prior to loading your automobile is important for the customer and the transport company.  Before your vehicle is loaded for shipping, the driver will evaluate your vehicle in its current state and require you to sign an agreement.  This is to ensure that all damage and any current issues with the vehicle are notated and documented so the shipper is covered.  For the customer, it’s important to check your vehicle inside and out of its current condition.  Make sure you document everything and if needed, photograph your vehicle to ensure that you as the customer are covered so that upon receiving your vehicle on delivery are able to know what damage was there already and what new damage, if any was done during the transport process.  This step is imperative to the auto transport process and should always be done before loading.

Why is this step so important? It’s like having your child travel on an airplane the first time by themselves. Before they board the plane you make sure to check that they have all the necessities needed to fly and they are all set for when they reach their destination. You double check their bags, check for any injures, and make sure everything is in order so they can reach their destination knowing everything is how it should be. Just think of your vehicle as your child, don’t forget to double check everything so you have peace of mind knowing your vehicle is set for transport and that you will receive it the same you way it left you. Remember, it’s up to the customer to ensure all damage is documented because the transporter my not see everything you do during the inspection. So remember to be diligent and do a bumper to bumper inspection, inside and out of your vehicle so both parties are able to feel confident when signing the pre-shipping inspection agreement.
