Florida is a state in the southeastern region of the United States, also known as “The Sunshine State”. Florida had an estimated population of 19,893,297 as of 2014. Major cities include Jacksonville, Miami, Tampa, and Tallahassee. The transportation department is known as the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT). Popular routes traveled in Florida are Highway I-4, I-75, I-95. The Florida Keys is often great for road trips, the 113-mile drive on Highway 1 from mainland Florida to Key West has distant islands you can see as you drive over the ocean. Highway 1’s concrete stretches across with the Atlantic spreading out to the left, the Gulf to the right. A ride on Highway A1A takes travelers on the the Atlantic Ocean and the Intracoastal Waterway to view a narrow barrier island with amazing views. South Beach is one of the biggest attractions Florida has to offer, where there are many nightclubs and beach lovers who enjoy relaxing.
