Flash flooding on Sunday in Michigan washed out highways and even caused sinkholes.

North – For weather this week, you can expect a round of storms due to a cold front traveling to the Midwestern and Northeastern states. This will bring relief from the hot weather experienced in the past week.

South – A cold front traveling from Southern to Northern and Midwestern states this week.  Expect heavy rain this week in Texas. The storm will continue from Texas to Louisiana, which can lead to flash flooding especially in the areas off the coast of the Gulf of Mexico.

Midwest – Over the weekend in the Midwest, heavy rain caused flash flooding and even sinkholes. In Michigan, there were at least 60 sinkholes with also a flood state of emergency. Major roads in Michigan may be closed and transportation conditions in the Midwest from Minnesota to Wisconsin may be affected from flooding. Many highways were washed out including Highway 2 in Wisconsin. A state of emergency was also declared in Douglas County, Wisconsin.

West – For this week, you can expect a pattern change in weather for the Western states. Warmer temperatures will be experienced in the Pacific Northwest from Oregon to Washington, but will return to cooler temperatures by Thursday. Temperatures will be cooler from California to New Mexico. In the Rockies, possible thunderstorms and heavy rain. For this week, the temperatures will be cooler than average – about 10 to 15 degrees cooler.
