Nevada is a U.S state located in the mountain west and south western region of the United States. Nevada is known as the “Silver State”. As of 2014, Nevada had an estimated population of 2,839,099. Major cities include Carson City, Las Vegas, and Henderson. The department of transportation is called The Nevada Department of Transportation (NevadaDOT). Nevada is most known for Las Vegas and its focal point being the Strip. The strip is just over 4 miles long and lined with elaborate theme hotels and innumerable casinos. Another major attraction in Nevada is the Hoover Dam. The Hoover Dam, once known as Boulder Dam, is a concrete arch-gravity dam in the Black Canyon of the Colorado River, on the border between the U.S. states of Arizona and Nevada. The Red Rock Canon National Conservation Area is a beautiful Red mountain range. And Red Rock Canyon offers a great scenic ride as it features a one-way 13-mile scenic drive.
