When it comes to auto transport, there are many things customers can do to ensure they are covered throughout the auto transport process. We have already told you a few tips to make sure your auto transport experience is a smooth one. Another small tip we believe is important, is taking pictures to document damage. Taking pictures is an easy and sure way to document any details or damage before the vehicle is loaded and shipped. This step is important because at the time of receiving you vehicle you should know what damage or details where on your vehicle before the driver loaded it onto the trailer for transport.

Here is a scenario to show you why taking pictures of your vehicle is important. Let’s say you wash your vehicle, remove personal items and think you have done everything you should before handing your vehicle over to be loaded onto the transport trailer, but forgot to take pictures. Fast forward to pick up day and you are at the pickup location and your vehicle has just been taken off the transport trailer. After being unloaded, you go bumper to bumper to inspect your vehicle as well as look through the inside and the trunk. Soon after you notice a couple dents or dings on the side of the vehicle that you’re sure weren’t there before the vehicle left for transport. You want to place a claim with the auto shipper about the damage, but did you take pictures to prove your case? Can you prove that the damage was not there before shipping and you were not the cause? For this instance alone it is highly beneficial to photograph and document current damage before you give your vehicle to the shipper. Don’t be put in a position where you are left a fault for damage you did not do. We can’t stress to our customers enough how important it is to take these easy preventive steps when the time comes to ship their vehicle because you will save you time and stress in the long run.
