During the auto transport process there are things that may happen after your vehicle has been loaded on the shipping trailer. Once your vehicle leaves, there may be some things that arise that you won’t realize until you receive your vehicle at its destination. One common thing we see customers forget to do in the auto shipping industry is disable or turn off their alarm before their vehicle has been shipped. Forgetting to turn off or disable the alarm on your vehicle can result in a couple different things. For the transport driver, it is important for them to be able to focus on the road during transport and not disabling the alarm can cause distractions for the driver and may result in slowing down the transport process. Safety is the first priority when transporting a vehicle and ensuring the driver does not have any added distractions is important and anything the customer can do to assist in the drivers safety would be greatly appreciated.

Other than safety reasons, it’s important for the customer to disable or turn off their car alarm because if the alarm does happen to go off during transport it may lead to a dead battery. During shipping, if the vehicles alarm goes off the driver might not here it or might not be able to turn it off resulting in a possible dead battery. You don’t want to be stuck in a situation where you go to pick up your vehicle from the transport trailer at your destination and you are unable to drive it away. It would be in your best interest to turn off or disable the alarm beforehand and in the event you forget just to be safe have jumper cables available at pick up so you are covered. Following this small and important step will make your transport experience a better one.
