Hawaii is the only US state that is an island, located in the South Pacific ocean. It is also the 50th state and the last one to join the union. Hawaii’s transportation department is know as the Hawaii Department of Transportation or HDOT. Some popular roads traveled in Hawaii are Highway H-1, H-2, and H-3. Hawaii is commonly known for its wonderful views of the oceans and volcanoes. The most-visited attraction in the State of Hawaii is the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park with nearly 3 million visitors per year. This park showcases the world’s most active volcano, Kilauea, and the world’s most massive volcano, Mauna Loa. Another famous sight for travelers in Hawaii is The USS Arizona Memorial, made for the 2,388 people that died during the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor.
