Although it is too early to predict travel conditions for Christmas, pre-holiday travel will certainly cause delays in traffic. Plan accordingly when traveling for the holidays and be prepared for harsh weather conditions. In the photo above, severe waves from California to Washington will be affecting boat travel and may create flooding conditions.

North – In the Eastern states,  expect pre-holiday travel delays from December 20-22.  A late-week storm will arrive from Virginia to New York Thursday to Friday with rain showers. Parts of Michigan to New York will see a mixture of rain and snowfall. On Saturday, expect rain from Connecticut to Maine. Southwest New Hampshire will have snow on Saturday, which may delay traffic.

South – From Thursday to Friday expect rain from Louisiana to Florida and from North Carolina to Georgia. The pre-holiday storm can make travel messy.

MidwestMidwestern states from Illinois to Ohio will have rain from Thursday to Friday. From Michigan to Ohio, expect a snow mixture through Saturday.

WestA weather advisory for the Pacific off the Coastline of California has been issued. High surf in the Pacific Ocean are creating dangerous and potentially deadly waves at many Southern California beaches. From Washington to California, large waves will affect mariner traffic and many harbors will be closed.
