North – The Northern states will being seeing cooler temperatures this week from Maine to New Jersey. Cooler temperatures are expected in New York, from the high 40’s to the low 60’s.

Midwest – A winter storm potential for this week is in the Upper Midwest and the Northern Plains. States from Utah to North Dakota will be affected from Thursday to Friday of this week. Snowfall is likely to accumulate to 6 inches, and less snow will fall in the Colorado area. A jet stream from Canada will travel from the Western States to the Midwest, being the main cause of this week’s snow.

West – After surging temperatures in California for this month with 80 to 90 degrees for this week, temperatures will finally drop. For this week, temperatures will drop 20 degrees lower than average, with temperatures being from the high 60’s to low 70’s. Wind speed near the coastal mountains will be up to 40 mph. Temperatures will be a lot cooler for this month as winter weather is approaching.

South – A major drought from North Carolina to Alabama has been causing wildfires to spread. Since the states haven’t seen rain since Hurricane Matthew, the drought has worsened. A state of emergency was declared for Birmingham, Alabama and North Carolina due to the excess spread of wildfires. Rainfall so far has been less than 1 inch for the Southeast since Hurricane Matthew. The first rain storm since then should happen this Friday for the drought stricken area.
