For Thanksgiving travel, the weather will vary in different parts of the country. Some states will have colder than normal weather, while others will have warmer weather. Expect transportation delays, since travel will be much slower for this week.

North – For this week, an arctic front is traveling from the Northwestern states to the Northeastern states. Temperatures will be slightly below average from the usual cold temperatures we have been seeing. You can expect more cooler, winter-like weather for this Thanksgiving from New York to Maine.

Midwest – Cold air from the Great Lakes will bring Lake-effect snow to the Midwest and some of the Northeast from Illinois to Maine. From Ohio to Wisconsin, there is a great chance for snow on Thanksgiving.

West – From California to Colorado, you can expect near or above average temperatures for this week. In Washington – particularly in Seattle – rain showers are forecasted for this whole week.

South – From Louisiana to Idaho, you can expect above average temperatures for Thanksgiving. From Kansas to Florida, you can expect near or slightly above average temperatures this week. In Florida, you can expect rain showers through Thursday, which may even further delay travel.

Our hours at DCAT will still be the same for this week, and we will still be answering calls.

Have a great Thanksgiving!
