The wildfires are spreading through both Northern and Southern California, as firefighters continue to battle the blaze. Listen for emergency evacuations if you are close to the fires and get to a safe location.

North – A snowstorm for this week is expected to spread snow and rain from the Southern Plains to the Northeast. From Illinois to Maine, expect snow and potential showers through Tuesday. The Western half of the Northeast will experience snow storms, while states on the coastline will experience more cold and rain conditions.

Midwest – Winter weather advisories expect snow from Oklahoma and Kansas and from Missouri to Arkansas early this week. Smoke from California wildfires will travel as far as Detroit, Michigan for today due to the jet stream.

West – Wildfires in California have currently destroyed many homes, even closing a freeway. The devastating fire left 31 people dead along with 228 people unaccounted for. The Woosley fire in Southern California near Malibu killed 2 people. The most destructive fire in California’s history, The Camp Fire, killed 29 people in Northern California. Many homes were also destroyed in Los Angeles. Expect delays in transportation for vehicles going through these areas in California.

South – Southern states from Texas to North Carolina will have rain and flash flood warnings along with potential severe thunderstorms from today until Tuesday.
