North – Heat and humidity will return with temperatures in the 90’s to 100’s until Wednesday from Maryland to Maine.

South – Temperatures will be 5 to 15 degrees above average from today to Wednesday from North Carolina to Florida. Expect travel delays from downpours in Louisiana to Tennessee. There will be severe thunderstorms with damaging winds and potential isolated tornadoes in Alabama and Georgia. Northern Florida will be affected by severe storms as well.

Midwest – The midwestern states are expecting another round of severe storms this week from Minnesota to Illinois. Rain is expected until Tuesday with chances of flooding, hail and possible tornadoes. Rising water and flash flooding are the main threats to this area. Some areas of the midwest can expect 4 to 5 inches of rainfall. An emergency order was declared in Wisconsin for major flash flooding. Madison, Wisconsin and other surrounding cities had up to 10 inches of rain. If you are traveling near this area, proceed with caution.

West – Catastrophic flooding on Big Island, Hawaii is resulting in cars and buildings being washed away. Evacuations were declared, as flooding is causing landslides and prompting water rescues. Rainfall exceeded 51 inches in some areas on the island. In Maui, evacuations were prompted and over 20 homes and 2 square miles of land were destroyed by a brush fire. Oahu and Kauai were safe from the brush fires.
