Alaska

On Sunday afternoon, a volcano in Alaska erupted on the Aleutian Islands which spewed ash in the air up to 20,000 feet. From the eruption, there were also tremors which shook the ground. This is a volcano that erupts often, where previous eruptions had ash rise as high as 49,000 feet in the air.

North

Toward the North, areas like New York are going to be a bit colder. Temperatures will range from low 50’s to high 60’s and the state can expect mostly cloudy/ windy weather with chances of rain. Over Easter Weekend, Rhode Island had its 5th coldest Easter, from its first one recorded in 1923. Weather is continuing this week to be cold in Rhode Island, but transportation should be good.

South

A rare hailstorm hits Florida making it look like a winter wonderland. Parts of southern Florida on Saturday evening had hail the size of quarters. Hail covered streets and lawn, making it look like a snowstorm. The amount of hail, along with the size of it being over an inch in diameter is a rare occasion for Florida.

Midwest

Over a foot of snow will be expected in the Midwest, in areas like the Rockies and Colorado. Parts of Nevada, Idaho and Utah will also be expected to be apart of this storm. The low pressure and cold air will cause rain to change to snow in these areas. Transportation from New Jersey to Colorado will be difficult because of the incoming snow.
