North

Unusually cold air for the spring season had struck the Northeast this weekend. After record cold temperatures for the Northeast and Midwest, we will have a warming trend. Illinois will have temperature averaging in the mid 60’s and New York will have temperatures averaging in the 70’s. Conditions are looking good for transportation in the North.

South

Severe storms in the South are targeting from Texas to Oklahoma. Rain, thunderstorms and tornadoes are likely for Monday 5/16. Flooding is expected to occur, and severe storms will shift further south from Texas to Louisiana on Tuesday. Other areas that are at risk of flooding include: Arkansas, and from Colorado to New Mexico. Proceed with caution when traveling through these areas.

West

Western Washington had two wildfires spread, burning 252 acres near Gold Bar, Washington. 200 firefighters so far have only contained 10 percent of the fire. The area will be expecting rain on Tuesday which will lead to cooler conditions, containing more of  the fire. Anyone transporting their car through this area should take extra caution.

East
Washington D.C. will have rainy weather this week, with the middle of the week being partially cloudy with a chance of sun. Further South, weather in Virginia will also be rainy for most of the week, with Thursday and Friday having a chance of warmer weather.
