Northeast – Weather from New York to Boston for this week will be mild and sunny. This will be a good week for transporting a car, with no significant storms to impact travelling and cause delays.

South – The severe hurricane Matthew is moving slowly over the Caribbean and is threatening coastal states in the U.S. like Florida. This category 4 hurricane which had winds of 145 mph on Sunday, is expecting to hit Jamaica and Haiti on Monday, and reach Cuba by Tuesday.  Florida should be prepared for the storm since they are already having strong winds along the East Coast. The hurricane path is expected already to hit from Florida to North Carolina, hitting Florida on Friday and South Carolina and North Carolina on Saturday with a wind speed of 110 mph.

Central – In the Central area of the U.S., strong storms are expected for this week. The Northern area of the Rockies will have it’s official first day of winter this year, as snow is forecast to to reach over a foot and a half. Idaho and Montana are expecting the most snow, and from Montana to Wyoming, is expected to have periods of flash flooding. Rainstorms are expected throughout central U.S., hitting areas from Idaho to Minnesota.

West – Southern California has an earthquake advisory now until Tuesday morning. The earthquake is likely to hit the San Andreas Fault. The California Office of Emergency Services states, “This equates to about a 1 percent increase in the likelihood of a major earthquake along the fault line through Tuesday.” California has already had 200 small Earthquakes this month. The odds of the Earthquake being the strength of a 4.3 magnitude earthquake are small, but California still must be prepared for the worst. If you are transporting your car through California, be aware that you are in Earthquake county, and that an Earthquake or tremor can happen at anytime.
