In New York, severe thunderstorms are expected today along with heavy winds and hail. The storm should clear up by Tuesday. High temperatures are also expected for this area, reaching up to 95 degrees. People in this area should stay indoors until the storm and heat wave passes. Massachusetts will also have soaring temperatures, with an average of 90 degrees for the week, and a high of 92 degrees. 

 

South

A rare Earthquake hit Florida one day ago with a magnitude of 3.7 on Saturday. Earthquakes in Florida are very rare, so this was a unique weather pattern for the state. This happened off the coast of Florida, and there was no reported damage on land. A severe thunderstorm warning was issued Friday for Texas, causing 78 flights to delay and 26 flights to be cancelled. Heavy rain, strong winds, and hail storms are likely to continue this week. A heat wave is also on the way for Texas this week, with temperatures potentially climbing to 108 degrees. Take caution when shipping your car through this area. 

 

 

West

Wildfires in Colorado force people to evacuate from their homes as the fires spread across more than 12,000 acres of land in the Sangre de Cristo Wilderness. More than 100 homes were evacuated, and firefighters are struggling to contain the fire. Dry and hot winds from the mountains are continuing to make the flames worse. A wildfire in California was also reported this week as about 2,000 residents were forced to evacuate from their homes. More than 700 firefighters were called to the scene to fight the blaze. Strong winds from Arkansas to Oklahoma were reported over the weekend, sending Presidents Bill Clinton and George Bush to flee the area.
