Here at Direct Connect Auto Transport we stress we like to focus on safety and living right while you’re on the road. That is the primary reason why we created our article, “Getting the Most Out of Your 30 Minute Break.” Being on the road for long stretches at a time is tough but keeping your body in good shape can be almost as hard. That’s why we’re happy and excited to share a news story with you guys that we recently came across.

It’s the story of Bobby Anderson and how he took charge of his personal wellbeing. As we mentioned before it can be terribly difficult to maintain a healthy lifestyle as a truck driver. The long hours spent on the road sitting is no good for your body. Coupled with the fact that most rest stops only serve food that is terrible for you. Luckily Anderson saw that he could do better for himself with just a bit of time and effort. He decided to become a vegan which means he doesn’t eat meat or any animal products. And while it may sound like quite the ordeal to pull this off while on the road, and it was, Anderson managed. For him preparation was key. He spends an entire day prepping his food before his trips. Doing so allows him to fix them quickly on the road and also allows him a wide variety of meals like vegetable stir-fry.

We hope that Anderson’s story inspires more nationwide car carrier drivers to get serious about their health. If you’d like to learn more about him and maybe even snag a few recipes you can check out his feature over on Today.com.
