Muhammad Ali, one of the greatest heavyweight boxers in American History, died this past week at age 74. He was an American legacy and a three-time world champion boxer. He became a heavyweight champion at the young age of 22. He won 56 fights and lost 5, along with holding many titles such as the light-heavyweight Olympic Gold Medal. He was not only gifted athletically, but was also self-confident and mentally strong, with all of the obstacles he faced that would most likely hold others back. His imperfections were what made him strong and more loved by Americans far and wide.

As Parkinson’s Disease eventually started to degrade his condition, he never lost his adoration for his fans or his child-like innocence and positive outlook. Muhammad was a lifelong entertainer, and easily became one of America’s favorite champions. Everyone is in remembrance over the great icon, including his hometown in Louisville, Kentucky. Flags are flying all over the city, including at the city hall, where the mayor will deliver a memorial service.
