North Dakota is U.S. state located in the upper mid western region of the country. It is known as the Peace Garden State and as of 2014, North Dakota had an estimated population of 739,482. Major cities include Bismarck, Fargo, and Grand Forks. The department of transportation is called The North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDOT). North Dakota is home to the Theodore Roosevelt National Park. It is a United States National Park which is comprised of three geographically separated areas of badlands located in western North Dakota. The park was named for U.S. President Theodore Roosevelt. The Fairview Lift Bridge, which is also known as Great Northern Railway Bridge 3.2, was built in 1913. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1997. And finally the Wild Rice River is a tributary of the Red River of the North, approximately 251 miles long, in southeastern North Dakota in the United States.
