North

This past weekend, New Jersey was affected by Hurricane Hermine with heavy rain and winds. The unpredictable storm closed down beaches stretching from Massachusetts to North Carolina. Many Labor Day plans were cancelled for residents and vacationers. The storm had past the East Coast on Monday, and was posed as non-threatening to New York, where it was expected to hit Staten Island. The storm has now strayed from the East Coast, and storm warnings are now lifted.

West

As for the West Coast, Oregon had a wild fire in the MountainGate subdivision, which burned 6 acres on Monday. 40 firefighters were sent to put out the fire, and thankfully, no homes were severely affected. The fire is still not completely extinguished, so proceed with caution when travelling through this area. Fires are again affecting the air quality from California to Nevada. Another wildfire in Southern and Central California over the weekend resulted in dust particles and increased ozone levels. People with breathing problems are advised to stay indoors. Visibility for drivers may also be reduced.

Midwest
Heavy rain, flooding and severe storms are threatening the midwest until Wednesday from Kansas to Wisconsin. Strong wind and hail are expected on Tuesday, along with the possibility for tornadoes. Flash flooding may also occur due to the moisture forming from the intense storms. The biggest threat will be from Wisonsin to Illinois, and Iowa, where Tornadoes are more likely to hit.
