North – Severe weather including heavy winds are possible today from New York to Pennsylvania. Downpours are likely and will affect from New York to Virginia and strong thunderstorms. The greatest threat will be around Interstate 79 and I-81.

 

South – Varying weather from tornadoes to heavy snowfall reached states from the Midwest to the South. Some Southern states even had snow from Winter Storm Ursa. From Kansas to Texas, states received an average of 12 inches of snow.  Major roads were blocked including I-70 in Kansas. Massive tornadoes throughout Texas cause damage to buildings. At least 4 tornadoes hit Texas, along with tornadoes and high winds from Arkansas to Missouri. Major floods from Arkansas to Missouri caused evacuations and rescues. The Mississippi River is currently flooded, and transportation around the area may be delayed.

 

West – High winds are expected for California near San Fernando Valley, where wind speed can reach up to 40 or 50 mph. Summer is already on the way for Washington. Even though summer is two months away, Washington is already seeing hot temperatures. A heat wave towards the middle of the week will affect Seattle, having temperatures soar above 70 degrees.

 

Midwest – Winter Storm Ursa hit the Midwest region over the weekend with up to 70mph winds and heavy snow. Snowfall varied from 12 -39 inches from Colorado to Michigan. Additional snow from Michigan to Illinois will fall today and tomorrow. 39 Inches of snow hit Colorado over the weekend. Snowfall even reached Southern states. Power outages are likely along with streets closing, so travel delays may be expected when transporting your car.
