North
Winter Storm Orson hit the Northern states over the weekend, and will continue to bring snow from New York to Maine for today. Boston, Massachusetts will be in the direct path of Winter Storm Orson on Monday. Snowfall from the weekend has disrupted flights, and left major roads blocked. Icy conditions may still be present, so proceed with caution when transporting your car through the Northern states.
South
The Southern Plains will continue to get colder tonight from New Mexico to Arkansas. Freezing rain is very likely, so be prepared when traveling on the roads this week. On Tuesday, a mix of snow and rain will hit from New Mexico to Texas.
West
Towards the end of the week, a wintry mix of snow and rain will travel from California to Washington. Idaho will also be affected, getting the most snow from this storm. Almost 200,000 people were evacuated in California for the Oroville Dam spilling. The water levels were extremely high for Lake Oroville, and an emergency spillway was used for the first time in 50 years. Since this lake is 150 miles from San Francisco, many people had been evacuated, and major roads are now shut down. Be aware that transportation in Northern California may be delayed.
