North

Ice storms from Winter Storm Jupiter are spreading from Midwestern states across to Northeastern states. In the middle of the week, states from Ohio to Maine are expected to have a mixture of rain, ice and snow. Snow accumulation is expected to be lighter for this week, although the icy conditions can make transportation much slower.

South

In the Southern states, severe storms are possible for today from Winter Storm Jupiter. On Sunday, Texas had flash flooding, large hail and tornadoes. There were 30 homes in total that were damaged from this storm. The hail was 4 inches in diameter; the size of teacups. Severe thunderstorms from Texas to Missouri are expected with a tornado advisory.

Midwest

Ice accumulation from Winter Storm Jupiter in the Midwest is causing dangerous conditions for driving. From Michigan to Iowa, these states can expect snow, rain and ice for this week. Ice accumulations may cause power damage as well, so be aware of conditions when transporting your vehicle through this area. This morning, 10 -12 cars in Illinois were involved in a pileup on Interstate 88 due to icy road conditions.

West

In Northern California, the drought has ended. This part of California has had enough rain and snow that north of Interstate 80 in California is free from the drought. The abundance of snow this season has greatly helped to improve California’s drought conditions.
