Do you have your cell phone handy? Most of you, if not all of you, would answer with a resounding yes. Cell phones have just become a constant, ubiquitous part of our lives. They’re items that we rely on. For many people they’ve replaced everything from alarm clocks to flashlights. So it should come as no surprise that many automakers are looking to tie our cell phones in a more meaningful way with our cars. We recently came across an article on Autoblog all about the NFC transmitters which will likely be making their way into every new car in the next few months.

The features they described seem to be rather enticing as well. Apparently, you’ll be able to control the radio and heating/cooling with your phone. Though, with the stigma attached to handling cell phones while driving and the design movement to place most of the necessary control on the steering wheel itself—we’re not sure of the viability of some of these features. But most of what we heard did look quite good. For more information concerning the NFC invasion of future cars, take a look at the Autoblog.com article here.
